Week 2 Lesson - 08/03/11: Invasion Games
Our practical, physical education lesson today involved invasion games. Invasion games are games which are played within a shared area and involve players invading the opposing teams’ territory, in order to stop them from scoring. The class was split into teams and played many variations of the well known sports netball and football. The activities were changed regularly and rules were adjusted to keep it interesting. We learnt that even the smallest variation to a game can keep children engaged, which is very important. We also learnt that it was important for explanation times to be short and concise, and to make sure students were participating in a game at all times, and not waiting for a go.
